FAQ
-
Salūme Stills is based in Atlanta, Georgia, serving couples throughout the city, North Georgia, and the greater Southeast.
-
Absolutely. While Atlanta is home, we’re available for weddings throughout the U.S. and internationally. We love experiencing new places alongside our couples and are happy to travel wherever your celebration takes us. Any applicable travel costs will be thoughtfully outlined in your custom proposal, so everything is clear from the beginning.
-
Most often, you’ll have our founder, Ericka Hartzell, personally documenting your day. Her approach is warm, intentional, and rooted in presence—balancing professionalism, organization, and clear communication with a genuine care for the people and stories she photographs.
She’ll offer thoughtful direction when you need it, hype you up during portraits, and will more than likely tear up during your vows. Above all, she wants you to feel comfortable, cared for, and free to be fully present—trusting that the moments that matter are being thoughtfully preserved.
-
Our signature style blends documentary honesty with editorial elegance, guided by a calm, intentional approach and contrast-rich, true-to-life color editing to create timeless, elevated imagery. In practice, that means we allow genuine moments to unfold naturally while offering thoughtful direction when it’s needed. We’ll step in to guide portraits, composition, and beautiful light, then step back for the moments best left uninterrupted—creating a gallery that feels both artfully composed and true to how your day actually felt.
-
Timeline guidance is a collaborative part of our process. We’ll work alongside you and your planner to thoughtfully shape a photography timeline that allows space for everything that matters—without making your wedding day feel like a photoshoot. Our approach prioritizes presence, giving you the freedom to fully experience your day while ensuring the moments and people most meaningful to you are beautifully documented.
-
We don’t require a traditional shot list. From the beginning, we’ll take time to understand your vision, the people who matter most, and any moments you want thoughtfully documented. Our signature process gives us the structure we need to photograph your day thoroughly without making the experience feel disruptive or overly managed.
For family and wedding party portraits, we’ll talk through your desired groupings in advance. If there are complex family dynamics or relationships we should be mindful of, you can share those with us privately, and we’ll hold that information with care and discretion. Having these details beforehand allows us to move through portraits calmly and efficiently—making sure the people you love are documented together without this part of your day feeling rushed or chaotic.
-
Absolutely. We love working alongside planners and fellow vendors and believe the best wedding experiences are created through thoughtful collaboration. We’ll communicate with your vendor team as needed, especially when refining your photography timeline, so everyone can work together toward the same vision.
Building genuine relationships with the people bringing your day to life is something we deeply value. Our goal is to be a supportive, seamless part of your team—so you can trust that the details are being handled and simply enjoy your wedding day.
-
Your photographs will be delivered through a private online gallery, thoughtfully curated for you to download, revisit, and share with the people you love. Your gallery will include your full collection of digital images alongside your film scans, all in one place.
-
Your full gallery will be delivered within six weeks of your wedding day, though you may receive it sooner. Because we photograph with both digital and film, part of our process includes sending your film to be professionally developed and scanned before carefully bringing the full gallery together. Once your scans are returned, we make gentle, thoughtful adjustments to create a cohesive collection while preserving the natural character of each image.
-
Our couples typically invest between $3,000–$4,500+ USD in their wedding photography, depending on coverage, additional offerings, and any customizations made to their collection.
For elopements or celebrations requiring something outside of our traditional wedding collections, we welcome you to inquire for a custom proposal tailored to your plans.
-
We understand that wedding photography is a meaningful investment, which is why we offer flexibility in how you choose to pay. A 50% retainer of your collection investment is required to officially reserve your date. From there, the remaining balance can be divided into four manageable payments with no additional fees or penalties, giving you greater flexibility as you plan for your wedding day.
-
Begin by reaching out through our inquiry form to share a little about you and your wedding. You can expect to hear from us within 24 hours with our availability and a questionnaire.
If everything feels aligned with your vision and investment, we’ll schedule a consultation call to get to know one another, hear more about what matters most to you, and make sure we’re the right fit.
When you’re ready to make it official, we’ll send over your contract and invoice. Once your contract is signed and your retainer is paid, your date is officially reserved—we’ll take it from there.
-
We recommend reaching out as soon as your wedding date and venue are secured, typically 9–12 months in advance. Popular dates can book even earlier, particularly during peak wedding seasons. That said, if your wedding is approaching sooner, don’t hesitate to inquire—we’re always happy to check availability. Your date is officially reserved once your contract is signed and the 50% retainer is received.
-
Once your date is reserved, we’ll guide you through each phase with intention, giving your photography experience the time and attention it deserves. We’ll begin with an introductory questionnaire to learn more about you and what matters most.
Around six weeks before your wedding, we’ll review your planner’s timeline and schedule a call to thoughtfully shape your photography timeline around it. By wedding day, the details are taken care of—so you can feel confident in the plan, be fully present, and trust us to document it all as it unfolds.
-
The best place to start is by filling out our Inquiry Form, where you can share a little about you, your wedding, and what you’re envisioning for your day. For any other questions, you’re always welcome to reach us at contact@salumestills.com. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Salūme may be the right fit for you if you care just as much about how your wedding day feels as how it looks. Our couples value genuine connection, thoughtful details, and timeless photographs, but above all, they want to be fully present with the people they love.
If you’re drawn to imagery that feels artful without feeling overly staged, appreciate gentle direction while still leaving room for real moments to unfold, and want photographs you’ll return to throughout your life—not simply images from a beautiful day—we’ll likely be a wonderful fit.
